Growing-station plan ยท Reviewed July 28, 2026

Build around the shelf, water, and plants.

The station has to hold trays, move lights as plants grow, catch water, preserve a dark period, breathe a little, and still be cleanable without drama.

Duck measures grow-light distance above trays and plants on an indoor garden shelf beside a reservoir, timer, fan, and seed-starting tools.
Measure the station while the lights, trays, water, and plants are all in the plan.

Plants change the dimensions

A shelf that fits empty trays can run out of height fast. Budget the container, plant, light gap, fixture body, hanger, and adjustment travel before buying the rack.

Planning another wet countertop workflow? Measure the kitchen appliance while it is doing the job.
