The station has to hold trays, move lights as plants grow, catch water, preserve a dark period, breathe a little, and still be cleanable without drama.

A shelf that fits empty trays can run out of height fast. Budget the container, plant, light gap, fixture body, hanger, and adjustment travel before buying the rack.
