Skipping, blanks, and endless feeding ยท Reviewed July 25, 2026

Your printer is eating labels. Start here.

Separate loading, label learning, and the paper size sent by your app before you reset everything.

Watch the paper, not the computer

One ugly symptom can come from three different layers.

The roll can be loaded wrong. The printer can forget where one label ends. The app can send a page longer than the stock. Those problems need different fixes, even when the floor is covered in the same blank labels.

Follow the label from back to front

  1. Confirm it is direct-thermal stock and the printable face is up.
  2. Load several labels straight between the guides.
  3. Run the exact model's documented label-identification step.
  4. Match the app's paper size to the label you loaded.

What did it do?

It feeds blank labels foreverDisconnect the print job, then run the model's label-learning step.A printer cannot find the gaps if it has not learned the new label size or stock.
It skips one label between printsConfirm the loaded size and the paper size sent by the app.Calibration and a wrong document length can look almost identical from across the room.
Every label is blankCheck that direct-thermal stock is loaded with the printable face up.Do this before reinstalling anything. Upside-down or non-thermal stock cannot react to the print head.
The red light keeps flashingReload several labels and repeat the documented identification step.If the light stays red after the exact model procedure, stop guessing and use manufacturer support.

Still flashing red?

Now you have a useful support ticket.

Record the stock type, loaded size, app paper size, and what happened during label identification. That beats "it is broken" and saves you from repeating the same four guesses.

Feeding cleanly now? Fix tiny, cropped, or sideways output here. If the shape is right but the image looks awful, run the print-quality bench test.
