Is the label file bad, or is the printer?
Print one known-good sample before you start randomly changing darkness, speed, drivers, and half the damn office.
The five-minute split
Give the printer a file it cannot blame.
Use the sample label from the printer maker. If that sample is crisp and your shipping label is garbage, the source file or the app is still in the hot seat. If both are faint, move to stock and the exact model's print controls.
A bench test, not a settings rampage

- Compare the whole label.Is everything faint, or only one stripe or corner?
- Change one thing.Source, stock, darkness, or speed. Never all four at once.
Match what you can actually see
Everything is faint
First check: Print the printer maker's sample label.
A clean sample points back to the downloaded file or the app that made it. A faint sample keeps the printer settings and label stock in play.
Only part of the label is faded
First check: Look for a shrunken source file, extra margins, or uneven stock.
Do not crank darkness first. That can hide the source problem and make other areas too hot.
Dark bars or the label stops halfway
First check: Back off darkness and slow down only as the exact model allows.

When to stop touching settings
If the maker's own sample stays bad after the documented stock and setting checks, you have useful evidence for support. If the sample is clean, keep the printer out of the argument and fix the source path.
