Will this label printer work with my phone or computer?
Of the three Brother models checked here, the QL-1110NWB is the only one that covers 4x6 shipping labels plus phone printing. Need smaller labels? You may not need the wider printer.
Here's the no-BS version
Forget “wireless” for a second. First ask how wide your labels are. Then ask which device prints them. Then decide whether more than one person needs the printer. That order cuts through most of the bullshit.
iPhone or iPad
Skip the QL-800.
Need 4x6 shipping labels? The QL-1110NWB is the only fit among these three. The QL-810W also works wirelessly from an iPhone or iPad, but it is only wide enough for smaller labels. We found no supported iPhone or iPad path for the QL-800.
Android
The QL-800 works, but only with a cable.
The QL-1110NWB works wirelessly and handles 4x6 shipping labels. The QL-810W works over Wi-Fi but only prints smaller labels. Brother documents the QL-800 with Android only through its app and a USB connection. That is a much fussier setup than the word “works” makes it sound.
Mac
Choose by label size first.
All three have a Mac option. For 4x6 shipping labels, choose the QL-1110NWB. For smaller labels, the QL-810W can print over Wi-Fi while the QL-800 plugs in with a USB cable.
Already narrowed it to Rollo?
USB or wireless. That's the decision.
Rollo says both models can print one 4-by-6 label per second. Wireless is not the faster answer here. You are choosing which devices can reach the printer and whether a cable is part of the deal.
USB only
Rollo X1038 USB Label Printer
Pick this if one computer does the printing.
It prints from Windows, Mac, or Linux through USB. If it sits beside one computer and you don't care about the cable, you're done.
The catch: No phone or tablet printing and no Wi-Fi sharing. The computer and printer need a physical USB connection.
Wi-Fi, AirPrint, and USB
Rollo X1040 Wireless Label Printer
Pick this if you print from a phone or tablet, or several computers share it.
It prints wirelessly from phones, tablets, and computers over Wi-Fi or AirPrint. Rollo also includes USB as a fallback.
The catch: Bluetooth only handles initial setup. Actual wireless printing uses Wi-Fi, and Rollo says the devices need to be on the same Wi-Fi network.

Among these three, this is the one to start with for 4x6 shipping labels, phone printing, or a shared packing table.
Skip it if: You only need small product or barcode labels and do not need its wider roll.
2.3 inches wide
Brother QL-810W
A wireless option for smaller product, barcode, and address labels.
Skip it if: You need standard 4x6 shipping labels. They are too wide for this printer.
2.3 inches wide
Brother QL-800
A cable-connected printer for smaller labels from one Mac or Android device.
Skip it if: You use an iPhone or iPad, want wireless printing, need 4x6 labels, or share the printer.
Don't see your exact model? Don't borrow the answer from a similar model number. Width, apps, and connections can change even when two printer names look almost identical.
